About Matt Knight

Matt Knight is a partner with Sway Ventures, where he focuses on PropTech investing for the firm. Matt Knight is a PropTech investor and advisor focused on the commercial and multifamily markets. He is the founder and owner of the largest angel group in the world focused exclusively on technology in real estate and apartments, the PropTech Angel Group. He also actively works with a few institutional owners of real estate on building an investment and piloting strategy around emerging technologies.

Matt was formerly a General Partner at Shadow Ventures, a venture capital fund focused exclusively on construction and real estate technology. Matt was responsible for capital raising and formation as well as deal sourcing and underwriting. During his time at Shadow, Matt also built an incubator, an accelerator, and an annual event known as Shadow Summit. Matt often speaks and writes about emerging trends or false narratives in PropTech via Medium or LinkedIn.

Prior to Shadow, Matt had a decade-long career in institutional real estate and was involved in more than $1B of commercial transactions. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Davidson College and splits his time between Atlanta and San Francisco.
